From beginner to expert sharp-shooter, Thunder offers many programs that offer a place to play for all levels of soccer ability. All players will receive age appropriate training and playing opportunities under the direction of outstanding licensed coaches.
COMPETITIVE/TRAVEL: Boys and Girls teams are formed in the U8 thru U19 age groups for participation in fall and spring travel leagues such as Region 1, NCSL, WAGS, BBSL, CMSSL and OBSL. Multiple teams are formed in each age group and club expectations change as the players get older. Please see ’Competitive’ link on the left for more information.
MICRO SOCCER: For children aged 4 thru 8. Children are grouped into like ages and learn exciting skills thru fun activities, games and scrimmages. No scores are kept and this is ideal for soccer rookies! Practices are once per week, at the same location every week.
Fall - Outdoor - 8 week session from late August thru late October - Application deadline is usually mid-July
Spring - Outdoor - 8 week session from early April thru early June - Application deadline is usually mid-March
CAMPS/CLINICS: Each year Thunder offers several clinics, usually during the summer months, to help players hone their skills. Thunder also has several coaches who run their own quality programs and we encourage players to check out all options.
YOUTH PREMIER SOCCER LEAGUE (YPSL) Boys and Girls teams are formed in the U11 thru U16 age groups for this regional summer league. All games are 11v11 and the league is set up such that each team plays four 3 game weekends (12 games total). The season runs from mid June thru end of July and does not interfere with regular Club team play. Players from the entire state of Maryland are encouraged to participate.
TSC MD PRIDE This is our Senior women’s team that competes in the East Conference of the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) - http://www.wpsl.info. The Pride came under the Thunder umbrella in 2007 and narrowly missed the playoffs under first year Coach, Steve Knapman.
TSC MD RED DEVILS: This is our Senior men’s team that competes in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) www.npsl.info. 2010 will be our inaugural season for the men’s team and there will be many updates published shortly!
