Scott has been playing and/or coaching soccer for 35 years. He has been supporting teams as a parent and assistant coach in Colombia, MD since 2006, having spent three years assistant coaching with Thunder United (U8-U10), then coaching a U8 SAC recreational team. Previously he coached for two years during college as well as after graduation.

He has a Maryland State D license, and is also a member of the Positive Coaching Alliance. His coaching philosophy centers on developing a passion and appreciation for soccer among youth, focusing on skills development at an early age while progressively introducing tactical play, and learning key life skills such as teamwork, good communication and leadership. He works to create a healthy environment, developing strong relationships with the players and parents, and encouraging players to focus and learn while having fun.

Scott currently works at the International Youth Foundation (IYF), based in Baltimore, supporting youth education and employability throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. He is married and lives in Columbia with his wife and three children – all three are playing soccer for Thunder in 2011-12 season: Gracie (U14), Alexander (U13) and Abraham (U10).
